1Environmental Commitment
In caring for each other at work, it would be wrong to ignore the issues surrounding environmental care. Albrighton Group Services Ltd acknowledges the scale of the environmental challenges facing the world today and in the future.
The company aims to encourage awareness of environmental issues among employees, customers and clients through open communication.
We will continually make practical recommendations and take positive action to minimise environmental damage arising from our day-to-day operations.
2Company Action
To help reduce the environmental impact of our activities, the following areas are continually targeted for action.
2.1Energy
Across our operations, we seek to minimise the use of electricity, gas, lighting and heating. Equipment is used only when necessary, helping to reduce fuel consumption and associated atmospheric emissions.
We encourage the use of modern, economical and fuel-efficient devices to support further energy savings.
2.2Packaging Materials
We encourage suppliers to reduce the volume of packaging used for their products. Preference is given to packaging that has been recycled, can be recycled, contains non-toxic materials and can decompose more readily following disposal.
Employees are encouraged to choose recycled materials where it is cost-effective to do so. Head office and regional offices use recycled paper for the majority of correspondence.
2.3Waste Materials
Where waste materials are generated or disposed of, employees are encouraged to participate in suitable local recycling schemes and recycle as many products as reasonably possible.
Paper products are recycled across our regional offices wherever suitable arrangements are available.
2.4Chemicals
Employees are trained to use only the quantities of chemicals required for day-to-day tasks, helping to reduce unnecessary waste.
Where practicable, chemicals are selected that have the lowest reasonable environmental impact during use and following disposal.
3Management and Communication
We regularly communicate our Environmental Policy to employees. Relevant information is provided during induction, at the start of employment and through internal communications.
Managers are responsible for ensuring that the Environmental Policy is implemented in day-to-day operations. Operational staff are trained and expected to follow their personal responsibilities for protecting the environment while at work.
