Recorded Inspection Visits
Scheduled visits at varied times, each logged and timestamped, giving you a record of attendance and of the building's condition.

AGS Security protects empty and void property across the UK — recorded inspection visits, manned cover, K9 teams, key holding and alarm response, fire watch and CCTV, specified around how exposed the building actually is.
An empty building deteriorates in two ways at once. There is the obvious risk — trespass and unauthorised occupation, metal and cable theft, vandalism, arson — and the quiet one, where a burst pipe or an open roof does more damage over a winter than any intruder would. Both are found by somebody actually attending, and neither is found by a padlock.
Vacant property is the requirement that draws on nearly our whole range, which is why we would rather specify it properly than sell you a single service and call it cover.
Few empty buildings need all of this. The point of the site assessment is working out which parts yours actually justifies.
Scheduled visits at varied times, each logged and timestamped, giving you a record of attendance and of the building's condition.
SIA-licensed officers stationed at the property where periodic visits are not enough for the level of risk.
General purpose patrol dog teams for large, unlit or repeatedly targeted sites, and for searching buildings for anyone inside.
Keys held securely and officers attending activations, so no member of your team drives to an empty building at night.
Where systems are switched off, trained personnel patrolling for signs of fire on an agreed pattern.
Cameras designed and installed for the building, with monitored options where a response to activations is needed.
Water ingress, open roofs, forced doors, fly-tipping and services left running — found on the visit rather than at the next valuation.
Written records of every visit and incident, with a defined route for raising anything that needs your decision.
Vacant property is usually sold as one thing — a patrol contract, or a camera, or a guard. In practice an empty building moves between those as its risk changes, and clients end up managing three suppliers who each cover part of the problem.
We provide the patrols, the officers, the dog teams, the key holding and alarm response, the fire watch and the cameras. That means cover can be adjusted when a building starts being targeted, rather than renegotiated.
Patrols, officers, K9, key holding, alarm response, fire watch and CCTV under one contract and one contact.
Timestamped visit records, so what you are paying for is something you can check rather than trust.
Void buildings usually have their fire systems off. We treat that as a separate question, not an afterthought.
From periodic inspection visits up to a continuous presence, adjusted as the building's exposure changes.
Documentation that evidences the cover in place, which is what matters when a claim is examined.
Priced on the property, the visit frequency and the services agreed, not an off-the-shelf package.
Water ingress, an open roof or a failed service found on a visit rather than after a winter of unnoticed damage.
Regular attendance and a visible presence make a building a poor prospect, which is far easier than resolving occupation later.
Copper, lead, boilers and wiring are the reason empty buildings are stripped, often over repeated visits.
Arson is a recognised risk to empty property, and detection systems are usually switched off exactly when it applies.
Documented cover and visit records supporting a claim rather than a conversation about what was in place.
A maintained, secured building is worth more at re-letting, resale or redevelopment than one that has been stripped.
The honest answer is that it depends on the building and changes over time. These are the three levels most void properties sit at.
The right answer for most empty buildings: recorded visits at varied times checking security and condition, usually combined with key holding and alarm response so an activation is attended. It satisfies the inspection condition many vacant property policies carry, at a fraction of the cost of a presence.
Where a building has already been entered, is in an area with a known metal theft problem, or has an open or damaged perimeter. More frequent visits, K9 teams after dark, fire watch where systems are off, and often cameras installed to cover the points being used to get in.
For buildings under sustained targeting, awaiting demolition, or where occupation has already been attempted. SIA-licensed officers on site, sometimes with dog teams. It is the most expensive option and we will say when a building genuinely does not warrant it.
An empty building is assessed before it is quoted, because the right level of cover is not obvious from the address.
The building, its boundary, how it has been secured, what is still inside it, and any history of entry or occupation.
Visit frequency, check points, key arrangements, fire watch where relevant, and escalation written into assignment instructions.
Briefed officers attend on the agreed pattern, with visits logged and timestamped from the first attendance.
Visit and incident records provided, with the level of cover revisited if the building's exposure changes.
Vacant property cover is usually a combination rather than a single service. These are the ones it draws on most.

Void property contracts run quietly for long periods, which makes them easy to under-deliver on. The questions worth asking are whether each visit is evidenced, whether the building's condition is reported as well as its security, and whether cover can be increased when something changes.
Read feedback from organisations and clients that have worked with AGS Security across commercial, construction and operational environments.
Tell us where the property is, how long it will stand empty and how it is secured at the moment, and we can assess it and set out a written specification.
