Planning security cover for an infrastructure project or site compound? Below are answers to the questions we're most commonly asked about our civil engineering and infrastructure security services.
Do you provide civil engineering security across the UK?
Yes. AGS Security provides civil engineering and infrastructure security throughout England, Scotland and Wales, supporting highways schemes, rail and trackside works, utilities compounds, groundworks and long-duration infrastructure programmes.
How quickly can AGS Security deploy officers to a site?
We understand that site requirements can change quickly, whether that's securing newly delivered plant, covering an unplanned shutdown or responding to a break-in. Depending on location and staffing requirements, AGS Security can often mobilise experienced SIA-licensed officers at short notice. Our management team will assess your requirements and confirm the earliest available deployment.
Can you provide overnight and weekend cover?
Yes. We provide overnight, weekend and shutdown cover for site compounds, plant and material storage areas, welfare units and unattended works — including gatehouse control, perimeter patrols and alarm response.
Can your officers work to principal contractor site rules?
Yes. Officers are briefed on your site rules, induction requirements and reporting procedures before their first shift, and work to the arrangements agreed with your site management team. We provide written incident reporting in the format your project requires.
Do you provide security dog handlers for infrastructure sites?
Yes. We provide NASDU-qualified security dog handlers for large or remote sites where a visible deterrent and rapid area coverage are needed, particularly on nights and weekends.
