Commercial Security Capability
Manned guarding for offices, business premises and shared commercial environments.
AGS Security provides manned guarding, security dog handling, mobile patrols, key holding, vacant property protection and commercial site security across Scotland. Our regional coverage includes Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee and Stirling, with security solutions tailored to commercial property, industrial premises, construction projects, warehouses, vacant buildings and operational sites.
Scotland is in the middle of a major build-out of energy and housing. SSEN Transmission plans more than £29bn of investment in the north of Scotland’s electricity network across 11 major projects, five of them already under construction. The Inverness and Cromarty Firth and Forth green freeports aim to attract around £14bn of investment between them, and Scotland started 14,955 new homes in the year to March 2026. Substation compounds, cable routes, housing sites and port developments are often large and remote, which makes access control and out-of-hours checks essential. AGS Security organises Scottish cover from its Wolverhampton office — Glasgow is about 279 miles away by the M6 and M74, and Edinburgh about 281.

Common questions about AGS Security’s commercial, industrial and mobilisation capability across Scotland.
Our primary regional coverage includes Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee and Stirling, subject to mobilisation arrangements.
Yes. We provide guarding, reception security, patrols, key holding and alarm response for commercial premises.
Yes. AGS Security can protect manufacturing, engineering, logistics, warehouses and operational compounds.
Yes. Security dog handlers may be deployed where the risk assessment identifies a need for enhanced deterrence.
Yes. Guarding, patrols, key holding and reporting can be coordinated across several commercial, industrial or construction sites.
Yes. The Private Security Industry Act 2001 was extended to Scotland, and SIA licensing became compulsory there in 2007. Officers doing licensable work in Scotland need the same SIA licence as officers in England and Wales.
No. Under section 6 of the Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003, access rights do not extend to land where building, civil engineering or demolition works are being carried out. The exclusion helps, but it does not stop people walking in: a clear perimeter, signage and a visible security presence are still what keep a site secure.
Yes, following a site assessment. Much of the grid upgrade work in the north of Scotland is in remote locations, so cover is planned around travel, welfare and communication for officers on site, with static guarding, patrols or security dog handlers chosen to suit the risk.
